An authentic Irish experience in the heart of the Poconos
Siamsa Irish Pub is an Authentic Irish Pub built in 2004. Owned and Operated by Brendan Gilsenan and Des Conboy both raised in the West of Ireland. Siamsa, pronounced “sheem-sa” comes from our ancient gaelic language. The word itself describes fun and Music.
In old Ireland, in times gone by, it would describe an evenings impromptu entertainment when country folk would ramble into a neighbour’s Cottage to sit and talk for awhile and listen to a storyteller or seanacai or possibly join in on a night of singing and dancing around a roaring fire.
Our Pub reflects both the Victorian style of 19th century Dublin Pubs, particularly in the ornate back Bar and use of glazed snug booths and the Celtic style which evolves the spirit of Irish creativity and mastery of mythological images.
We have dedicated ourselves to producing an authentic Siamsa Pub. Our Pub was built in Ireland, shipped to the Poconos and assembled by Irish craftsmen.

Stephanikos, established 2014, is named after our daughter (Stephanie) and son (Nikolas). Originally from New York, our family moved to The Poconos 13 years ago, and opened an Italian Restaurant in the West End named Mangia Baby.
We have relocated to Stroudsburg and are now opening our New Ethnic Greek and Italian Taverna, which means small restaurant. We hope you enjoy some of my mother and father’s comfort, home-cooked recipes. Growing up in the kitchen, I learned these recipes as they were passed on to me through the years. Now here I am 34 years later, still in the kitchen cooking for you, our customers. I hope you enjoy them as much as my family does.
